No data protection officer has been appointed as there is no legal obligation to do so.
We process data on the basis of Art. 6 (1) GDPR, in particular:
Storing information on your device is additionally governed by Section 25 TDDDG: technically necessary storage is based on Section 25 (2) TDDDG, everything else requires consent under Section 25 (1) TDDDG.
This website is operated by an external hosting provider with whom a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place.
Each time the website is accessed, the server automatically stores information transmitted by your browser: IP address, date and time, page requested, referrer URL, browser type and version, and operating system. This is necessary to deliver the website and keep it secure (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR). Log files are deleted as soon as they are no longer required for this purpose, unless they are needed to investigate a security incident.
This website uses SSL/TLS encryption, recognisable by the padlock symbol and “https://” in the address bar. Data you send to us cannot be read by third parties.
On your first visit, a banner asks which optional categories you want to allow. We store your choice in the cookie bow_consent on your device. It contains only your choice, a timestamp and a version number and is deleted after 180 days. This cookie is technically necessary (Section 25 (2) TDDDG, Art. 6 (1)(c) and (f) GDPR).
Optional categories:
The legal basis for optional categories is your consent (Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR, Section 25 (1) TDDDG). You can withdraw or change it at any time with effect for the future via the Cookie settings link in the footer.
If you log in to WordPress as an editor, WordPress also sets technically necessary login cookies. These are not set for regular visitors.
If you write to us via the contact form, we process the details you enter: name, email address and your message as required fields, and optionally company, phone number, requested service and time frame. We use the data to answer your enquiry and prepare a possible project (Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR), otherwise on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR).
The form runs on Elementor Pro. Your details are sent to us by email and additionally stored in the website database so that no enquiry gets lost. We delete the data once your enquiry has been fully dealt with and no statutory retention obligations apply.
If you contact us by email or phone, we store and process your enquiry, including any resulting data, in order to deal with it. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1)(b) or (f) GDPR. We use an email provider as a processor for sending and receiving email.
The fonts used on this website (Jost and Hanken Grotesk) are stored on our own server. No connection to Google or other font providers is made when the page loads.
We only pass on data where this is necessary for the purposes described: to our hosting and email providers as processors, to project partners as part of an assignment with your knowledge, to tax advisers and authorities as part of legal obligations, or where we are legally obliged to do so.
We only store personal data for as long as is necessary for the respective purpose. We then delete it unless statutory retention periods require longer storage – for example six or ten years under commercial and tax law for business letters and invoices.
You have the right at any time to:
Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): where we process data on the basis of legitimate interests, you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. An informal message to mail@birdonwire.de is sufficient.
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen, Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany.
